Students hope for tech opportunities - BRED Bank Cambodia

Students hope for tech opportunities

BRED Bank Cambodia’s information technology team hosted a delegation of 23 students and three teachers from the French NGO, Pour un Sourire d’Enfant (PSE). The students are all interested in pursuing a career in IT and the visit to BRED’s Head Office gave them the opportunity to learn about how the bank’s technology experts support the business.

“This kind of experience is really valuable for young people considering a career in our industry,” said David Da Costa, Chief Information Officer at BRED Bank Cambodia. “We hope that the students now have a clearer understanding of the rich ecosystem, diverse technologies, various roles and skills that a career in IT offers.”

This latest visit is part of an ongoing programme developed by PSE to prepare the young people in its care for the world of work. In April, the bank welcomed students who hope to work in the banking industry in the future.

“Our work with PSE gives under-privileged young people a real chance to turn their lives around,” said BRED Bank’s Head of Human Resources Department, SAR Rath Amara. “Our partnership with PSE allows us to make a vital contribution to society while creating real opportunities for talented individuals.”

PSE’s mission is to help children escape from destitution and lead them to skilled and well-paid jobs and has operated in the Kingdom since 1996.
