Equality isn’t just an HR buzz word at BRED Bank Cambodia, it’s embedded in our culture and supported by the positive policies required to eliminate the social barriers that often prevent women from reaching their full potential in the workplace.

Rewarding talent
BRED Bank invests heavily in staff training, supporting individuals and creating clear pathways for career development while ensuring equal opportunity.
“In the last three years, we’ve promoted more women than we have men,” says Head of HR, Rath Amara SAR. “From young women starting out as interns to those joining our executive team, we’ve shown that if you’ve got the talent, you’ll have opportunities to succeed!”

Getting the work/life balance right
Getting a good work/life balance can be challenging – especially for women with children.
“It’s essential to balance the demands of work and family life,” says Rath Amara SAR. “We’re proud to offer a comprehensive maternity benefits package which include three months’ fully paid leave, health insurance to cover prenatal check-ups and the birth plus cash benefits at the time of the birth. We also provide paid breastfeeding time when women return to work until the child is a year old.”

Empowering the next generation
To help individual women progress their careers, BRED created its Empow-Her mentoring programme, matching ambitious and talented young women with successful senior women from around the bank.
“It’s a positive and supportive programme, designed to build the confidence and improve the skills of women who are at an earlier stage in their careers,” says Rath Amara SAR. “Through the programme, they have the chance to learn from inspiring women who are amongst the best in the finance industry.”
Accelerating action
While the focus of International Women’s Day is all about accelerating action for women’s equality around the world, BRED Bank Cambodia can be very pleased with its achievements to date.
“We fully support this year’s #Accelerate Action theme,” says BRED Bank Cambodia CEO, Nicolas Hollanders. “Offering equal opportunities is important to our staff – and to our society.”
